ORS Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (PBFR)
Build Strength and Heal Smarter with the Next Generation of Recovery,
Now at Heart & Soul with Jen Terrell, MPT.
What Is Owens Recovery Science (ORS) PBFR
Traditional strength-building programs often rely on heavy lifting—something many people recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic pain simply can’t do.
That’s where Owens Recovery Science (ORS) Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (PBFR) Training comes in.
Using a specialized, medical-grade tourniquet system, PBFR safely limits blood flow to working muscles during low-load exercise. This controlled low-oxygen environment stimulates muscle development, improves circulation, and supports healing—without putting stress on joints or requiring heavy weights.

Benefits
Traditional strength training isn’t always accessible during recovery or for those with joint limitations. Our method uses personalized blood flow restriction to help you safely gain strength using significantly lighter weights—reducing strain while maximizing results.
When muscles around the joint are stronger and more activated, joints become more stable and mobile. This approach helps protect joint health while restoring natural range of motion—especially beneficial for arthritis, post-op care, or long-standing mobility issues.
By increasing blood flow and reducing mechanical stress on the body, this method can help naturally decrease inflammation and ease chronic pain—supporting your healing without relying on medication.
Recovering from a procedure or injury? This therapy stimulates healing at the cellular level by promoting circulation and muscle activation, helping you return to movement, activity, and daily life faster and more comfortably.
Muscle loss from aging, injury, or prolonged inactivity can have long-term effects on your health. Our approach activates muscle fibers more effectively—even with minimal resistance—making it safer and more efficient for building muscle where and when you need it most.

FAQS
Find answers to commonly asked questions about PBFR and what to expect during a consultation.
PBFR is a specialized technique that uses calibrated pressure to safely restrict blood flow to a limb during exercise. This allows patients to achieve significant strength and endurance gains while using much lighter weights, reducing stress on healing tissues.
PBFR therapy can benefit a wide range of patients, including those recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, rehabilitating injuries, or looking to enhance athletic performance. It’s particularly effective for individuals who cannot tolerate traditional high-load exercise.
Yes, when performed by our certified specialists using medical-grade equipment. Each session is personalized to your specific measurements and needs. Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated PBFR’s safety profile when properly administered by trained professionals.
Most patients describe PBFR as creating a temporary feeling of pressure and muscle fatigue during exercise. While some discomfort is normal due to metabolic stress, our specialists carefully monitor and adjust pressure levels to ensure your comfort and safety.
Many patients report feeling differences after just 1-3 sessions. Research shows measurable strength improvements can begin within 1-2 weeks of consistent treatment. Your personalized timeline will be discussed during your initial consultation.
